The project

Historic brick and a front porch on the outside. Organ pipes, pews and an open kitchen on the inside.

We transformed a 19th-century building at 2219 Maryland Avenue into Church, a cocktail bar built to be a hub for community and culinary creativity.

The work blended the building's historic character, including its brick exterior and front porch, with modern design. Inside are a welcoming dining room, a medium-sized bar clad in wooden “organ pipes,” and an open kitchen where guests can watch the food come together.

Outside, a front deck and rear patio give guests more places to gather, and the kitchen set a new standard for commercial kitchen environments.
